Barbara Harman has been creating one-of-a-kind and editioned artist books since 1983. Her unique artist books include original text, painting, prints and innovative structural designs. Harman's work is included in collections in the Museum of Modern Art in New York City and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, and elsewhere. Harman teaches at the Minnesota Center for Book Arts and Highpoint Printmaking Center in Minneapolis, Peninsula Art School in Fish Creek, Wisconsin and to artist and calligrapher groups in Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Missouri, California and Guatemala. The instructional materials in Unbinding the Book: The Boundless Concertina and More Concertina Madness, published by Harman's company, Paperworks, were developed in her popular book arts workshops. Barbara Harman holds a Master of Fine Arts degree and is a mentor with the Women's Art Registry of Minnesota. She has been teaching for over twenty years.
